Bout of Books 13: Day 1 Bookish Survey Challenge

Hello, everyone!

I have not done any reading yet today which is a great way to start out the read-a-thon (-_-) but after this, I plan to grab a cup of coffee and get some serious reading done. I decided to participate in the challenge for today. It is called the Bookish Survey Challenge and I basically just answer the 5 questions below to tell you a little more about me.

1. How do you organize your shelves?

Right now, the are organized by genre. However, I have been known to organize them in many different ways such as by color, size, alphabetical order, etc.

2. What is one of your favorite book that’s not in one of your favorite genres?

I loved Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell which surprised me because I do not usually like contemporary books.

3. What is the last 5 star book you read?

The Tombs of Atuan by Ursula K. LeGuin

4. What book are you most excited to read during the read-a-thon?

The one I picked up first which is I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak

5. What book do you recommend the most?

The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey

If you have not read this book, you should check it out as soon as possible. It is a truly magical story.

Project 50

Hello,

I am here to announce that I will be taking part in a book-buying ban/reading challenge for the next couple months. It is called Project 50. I learned of this from a Booktuber, Girlygirlbookworm whose video you can watch here.

This project is both a book-buying ban as well as a reading challenge. The rules are that I have to read 50 books that I own before I can buy any more. I have a lot of books that I own that I need to read and I thought this would be a great way to reduce my TBR pile. If I buy a book before I finish the 50 books I already own, the project will start over. Any library books I get during this time will not count as buying a book but they will not count as a book for the Project 50.

This might be a long process since I read only about 75 books per year but I feel that my TBR pile has just gotten so big that I need to focus on reading the books I own instead of buying new ones. I will be posting some updates as I go telling you about how I am doing. Please feel free to join me in this project if you feel like you need to shrink that TBR pile or if you are on a book-buying ban of your own. We can support each other as we go.

Updated Bookshelf

Hey, everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that I have updated my bookshelf pictures. This is long overdue as I have acquired a LOT of new books and given some old ones away.
